Lego Education, a division of Denmark’s Lego, announced about launching in 2016 new robotics learning system for kids, which is called WeDo 2.0.

Previous educational program for kids was called Lego Mindstorms and was designed to interest kids in science and programming. Now Lego Education aims to excite children’s interest in robotics and teach them engineering, technology and coding.

Combining hardware and software elements in the education system, WeDo 2.0. will give more than 40 hours for kids hands-on course project. Launching of the system was announced at the technology trade show CES 2016 in Las Vegas. The proposed robot is wireless, tablet-ready system for young makers. When the Lego Mindstorms creation was about to teach middle and high school students, WeDo 2.0. is ready for younger followers.

From the lessons kids will learn something from physical, life, earth and space sciences and engineering. Moreover, while learning students will be motivated to solve real-world science problems. Educational system consists of 8 guided projects and 8 open-ended projects. Also, there are special training, curriculum and built-in assessment  for teachers of the program.

“These science lessons do more than just teach students facts to memorize,” Marlow said. “They represent an immersive experience that instills a deeper understanding of the scientific method and evidence-based reasoning.”
