the interface has an inbuilt overcurrent protection that activates if the
connected peripheral sinks over 200mA on the 5V bus. once the peripheral is
removed service will resume.
LED statuses:
green led - ON - if peripheral is supported and succesfully initialized
OFF - if supported peripheral is disconnected
OFF - if overcurrent condition is triggered
red led - ON - if init failed or during overcurrent condition
OFF - end of init
OFF - end of overcurrent condition
short blink - during device power-on
